OUR HISTORY
Maguelone Poulain is the founder of Maguelone Poulain Design, a design house born in southern France. From her workshop, she brings contemporary design and craftsmanship into dialogue through Japanese-inspired light fixtures.
Trained in interior architecture and design, and a graduate of École Camondo (Paris) in 2020, her journey has immersed her in exceptional craftsmanship: brass work, architectural embroidery (at MTX), Saint-Louis crystal.
Her travels also nourish her perspective and sensitivity to decorative arts. She discovers light materials like Washi paper, still little used in Europe but renowned in Asia for its durability and place in furnishings.
During an immersion within workshops in Marrakech, Maguelone designs and manufactures furniture alongside local artisans.
This hands-on experience marks a turning point: valuing traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary approach becomes the heart of her approach.
This is the birth of Maguelone Poulain Design.
